🏉TUAM DEVELOPMENT 35 OLBC 7
Tuam's men development team made it back to back home wins in the J1C league when a strong second half performance, saw them overcome OLBC at Garraun Park.
Tries by John Fahy, Darragh McWalter, Mark King, Seàn Brandon and Cian Breathnach McGinn, which were all converted by Eoghan Kelly, did the damage on the scoreboard.
Tuam started on the front foot and were ahead after only 5 minutes when a driving maul saw John Fahy touch down and give Tuam the perfect start. Kelly added the extras.
Both teams enjoyed their own sustained spells of possession but with both defences remaining resolute, there was no further scores in the opening half as Tuam led 7-0 at the break.
However it took the visitors only 10 minutes after the resumption to level matters when they got over for a converted try.
Yet three tries in fifteen minutes put the result beyond doubt. Firstly on the hour mark, a blistering run by Mark King almost saw him get in for a five pointer but the ball was eventually spread out to Darragh McWalter who got over for a try. King was not to be denied however, as he got the try his performance deserved when he once more outpaced the OLBC defence and this time he wasn't for catching.
A breakaway try by Seàn Brandon sealed the bonus point before Cian Breathnach McGinn rounded off the try scoring with his first of the season.
A great team performance meant the home fans went home happy. Well done to all the players and management team and to all our supporters for making the trip to Garraun Park.
