Following what was an historic day for the club, head coach, Barry Ruane, said he had nothing but pride and admiration for his team on the day Tuam Rugby club became a new name on the Cawley trophy.

He said, "It was a huge day for the club. Two local sides in a Cawley Cup final. First of all, that itself was a huge achievement for both clubs. Tuam had never won it before so it's a massive feat for the senior group of 50 guys who all contributed to the success.

"We're absolutely delighted with the win but it's now time to refocus on the league. We push on again to next weekend to Creggs in what will be a very tough game.

"In relation to the Cawley Cup, it was an honour to win it. A brilliant competition which started back in August. It's a fantastic cup to have in the club for the next 12 months," concluded Barry.
