Tuam will play Castlebar RFC in the first round proper of the Bank of Ireland, Connacht Junior Cup, after tonight's draw was made by Connacht Prsident Mike Hehir and broadcaster John Mulligan.

Its an intriguing tie that will see Tuam Head coach Barry Ruane come up against the man who recently replaced him as Connacht Junior head coach, Alan Bane. It is also an opportunity for the homeside to seek revenge on their opponents who came away with a 24-22 victory in their last visit to Garraun Park. The Mayoside produced a fine second half performance to grind out a two point win in their J1A clash.

The game will take place in Tuam on the weekend of Friday, Jan 12th. Tuam will be hoping to embark on a similar run to last year's campaign when they made it all the way to the semi-final stage only to be defeated by eventual winners, Westport.
